  7. Indians living in Dubai are questioning the authenticity of the Padmashree Awards. One of the awardees SUNNY VARKEY who claims he has a done a lot for education is a Villain in the eyes of parents of children who are enrolled in his schools. He is a Businessman first with a lot of GREED. HE HAS DECIDED OVERNIGHT TO RAISE FEES OF THE ONLY ICSE SCHOOL BY 110% leaving parents of over 2200 children of Dubai Modern High School in a state of shock. He is shameless as he is addressing the agitated parents thru letters written by his son DINO VARKEY. Guess what – Indian parents of his schools today think SUNNY VARKEY CAN BUY ANYTHING – INCLUDING THE PADMASHREE AND WHO KNOWS – NEXT YEAR THE PADMABHUSHAN too.

Why do u have to act like a regionalism glorifying zealot all the time? Why cant u just be happy for all the people, be they from Karnataka or Andhra!!!!!!! I hate to say it but ur comments were extremely disdainful…I’m from North India by the way, but I consider myself to b an Indian first and a North Indian later…But it appears u are too busy wid Andhra to think abot India as a whole.

  18. Congratulations to all Padma National award winners.
I have seen many comments on Padma award. But my earnest request to all citizens are to take these award as a national recognition. In a country of 110 Cr. population we can not award every body. The Government has to frame some rules and with in that rule they have to shortlist the nominations.

I feel the right candidate were selected. See the case of Dr. G.Madhavan Nair, Chairman ISRO and Shri P.R.Krishnakumar M.D of Arya Vaidhya Pharmacy (CBE). They are the best selection as they contributed substantially in their areas of working and lightened our great country.
I wish all the Padma award winners all the best and request them to continue their effort in lightening our country.

My special congratulations to Shri P.R.Krishnakumar and Dr. Madhavan Nair for winning the award.
