Florida teen Abraham K Biggs of 19yr commits suicide in front of webcam

 

A Florida teenager killed himself by overdosing on drugs in front of a live online audience as some computer users egged him on, some debated his method, and others tried to talk him out of it. 

Abraham K Biggs, 19,died Wednesday at his home from a toxic combination of opiates and benzodiazepine, a drug used to treat insomnia and depression, said Wendy Crane, an investigator with the Broward County medical examiner’s office. 

Authorities say Biggs is not the first person to commit suicide with a webcam rolling. Before committing suicide and turning his Web Cam on,Abraham had posted a suicide note on another forum http://forum.bodybuilding.com/ 

It’s unclear how many people were watching through the Web site bodybuilding.com. Someone finally notified a site moderator, who pinpointed Biggs location and called police, but they arrived too late to save him, Crane said. 

Biggs, who used the screen name “CandyJunkie” on the bodybuilding Web site, started blogging about plans to kill himself 12 hours before he was found lying dead on his bed. He posted a link from bodybuilding.com to Justin.tv, a site that allows users to broadcast live videos from their webcams. 

Some users who read the blog told investigators they did not take him seriously because he had threatened suicide on the site before. 

But Biggs family was infuriated that neither viewers nor the site acted sooner to save him. 

“When (police) came in, the webfeed stopped. So that s 12 hours of watching,” said his sister, Rosalind Biggs, who said her brother struggled with bipolar disorder. “They got hits, they got viewers, nothing happened for hours.”

Rosalind Biggs described her brother as a friendly, social, outgoing person who struck up conversations with Starbucks baristas and enjoyed taking his young nieces to Chuck E. Cheese.

SRK’S Jailed Pak Fan To Be Freed

AMRITSAR: Nasir Sultan, a 15-year-old Pakistani boy who was jailed in Punjab after illegally crossing the border to meet Bollywood star Shah Rukh
Khan, will be handed over to Pakistani authorities on Friday. 

“He will be released around 11 a.m. We will hand him over to the Pakistani authorities,” Amritsar’s Deputy Commissioner of Police K.S. Pannu said.

The police decided to allow Nasir to cross the Attari-Wagah border, about 30 km from here, after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) gave their clearance in the matter.

Nasir was arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) in September from an area near the India-Pakistan border.

The boy, an avid fan of Shah Rukh Khan, said that he came from Pakistan in August to meet the superstar and to participate in a TV reality singing contest.

Nasir was lodged at the juvenile jail in Punjab’s Faridkot town, about 250 km from Chandigarh. He was booked under the Foreigners Act and the Passport Act for entering India illegally.

Nasir, a Class 10 student, is a resident of Dir in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province (NWFP) that is witnessing intense fighting between the militants and security forces.

He left his house on the morning of Aug 14, saying he would return in the evening but called his parents after about a month to inform them that he was in jail in India.

A petition was filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chandigarh in November seeking the release of Nasir since he was innocent. Pakistan’s human rights activist Ansar Burney had come to India to plead for his release.

(1) This list contains the results of those candidates who were admitted and have appeared in

AME Licence Examination, October, 2008 session.

Question paper Reference Number properly /correctly.

Important Instructions

(5) Candidates are advised to mention their Computer Number, Name and Session of

examination on the reverse of the Bank Draft. No combined draft shall be accepted in case

of individual candidates including private, defence etc.

(6) Instructors of AME Training Institutes who wish to appear in the AME Licence Examination

should send their Bank Drafts individually and not clubbed with students of their Institutes.

Further, instructors should also mention as PRIVATE CANDIDATE in the sponsoring

organization column in CA-9 Application Form.

(7) QCMs of scheduled / unscheduled Airlines / A. M. Os. are advised to send ONLY ONE

Consolidated Bank Draft as fees for their candidates. The application of the candidates

from these organizations should forward their application through their QCM and not as

individual / private candidates.

(8) Candidates are advised to submit the applications on CA-9 (AME Written) Rev, July 2007,

Form only, failing which, the same is likely to be rejected. Application Form CA-9 (Written) is

available on DGCA Web site: http://dgca.gov.in.

(9) Candidates who have passed their Paper 1, 2 & 3 before 1992, should submit their attested

copies of results / BAMEL / AME Licence along with their application while applying for Paper

/ Examination.

(10) Candidates should note that Ahmedabad Examination Centre is here by CANCELLED till

further order.
